Johnny L. Veselka Scholarship Recipients 2014-Present
TASA established the Johnny L. Veselka Scholarship in 2013-14 to honor and provide financial assistance to outstanding doctoral students pursuing careers in educational leadership, with particular emphasis on the superintendency.
2025 Scholarship Recipients
David Lee and Valerie Little were selected as recipients of the 2025 Johnny L. Veselka Scholarship and will be honored at the 2025 TASA Midwinter Conference. Lee, principal of Sunset High School in Dallas ISD, is working toward his doctorate in The University of Texas Cooperative Superintendency Program. Little, Prosper ISD’s executive director of student engagement, is pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
