Cancellation Deadlines
Cancellations for most events must be submitted at least three (3) working days prior to the event; major conferences generally have an earlier cancellation deadline, which is posted with the registration information for each conference.
- The 2026 Midwinter Conference cancellation deadline (as well as the 2026 School Finance Boot Camp and Aspiring Superintendents Academy) was January 14, 2026, as posted on the conference registration webpage.
- The cancellation deadline for the 2026 TASA txedFest Summer Conference is May 26, 2026, as posted on the conference registration webpage.
- txEDCON cancellations must be requested through the Texas Association of School Boards, which handles registration for that joint TASA/TASB event. Please contact TASB at 800.580.8272, ext. 2451 or registrar@tasb.org.
How to Cancel or Transfer Event Registration to a Colleague
The ability to cancel or transfer event registration to a colleague varies by event. Take these steps to see your options for managing your event registration:
- Log in to the TASA Member Services Center and view your profile page.
- Using the left navigation (under your photo and name), select My Events.
- You will see a list of events for which you are currently registered.
- Click on “Click Here” to access the event overview page, where you will find a drop-down menu that provides options for managing your registration. Follow the prompts.
All event registration cancellation requests must be submitted online via the TASA Member Services Center. No hard-copy, faxed, or emailed requests will be accepted.
Cancellation Fees
Events Held Prior to September 1, 2026: Per-individual cancellation fees for TASA events are $75 for events with a registration rate of $250 or more, and $50 for events with registration rates of $249 or less.
Events Held After September 1, 2026: Per-individual cancellation fees for TASA events are as follows:
- $50 for events with registration rates that are $250 or less
- $75 for events with registration rates ranging from $251 to $450
- $100 for events with registration rates of $451 or more
- $100 for TASA Midwinter Conference registration
Refunds
TASA recognizes that cancellations may be necessary for a variety of reasons. To provide flexibility, refunds (less a cancellation fee) will be issued for most events, if requested prior to the published cancellation deadline.
After the cancellation deadline has passed, refunds are no longer available due to significant non-recoverable costs incurred by TASA. This policy applies to all circumstances, including, but not limited to, illness, unforeseen events, “acts of God,” travel disruptions, acts of terrorism, employment changes, or duplicate registrations.

For cancellations submitted using the steps outlined above by the cancellation deadline, refunds (less the cancellation fee) will be issued for PAID invoices, provided that the organization is in good financial standing with TASA. The refund — regardless of payment type — will be issued by check to the individual’s organization of record. The refund will be issued no sooner than thirty (30) days after the final day of the event.
Transfers/Substitutions
Most TASA events, including the Midwinter Conference, allow for registration transfers to be made even after the cancellation deadline (on-site at the event). Registration for other events, such as the First-Time Superintendents Academy, is non-transferable. See above for how to transfer registration to a colleague.
No-Shows
No-shows will be billed in full with no refund issued. Substitutions may be made through the TASA Member Services Center.
TASA Cancellation of an Event
TASA reserves the right to cancel all or portions of an event if minimum registration targets are not met. If an event is canceled, registrants will be notified seven (7) working days prior to the workshop/conference and a full refund will be issued.
TASA recommends that you do not purchase nonrefundable airline tickets or make nonrefundable hotel reservations. If you choose to do so, you are responsible for all terms and restrictions.
