Assistant Principal Leadership Academy

TASA partners with N2 Learning to offer the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy (APL), which not only prepares assistant principals to take on the role of principal, but also helps them to grow as transformational leaders.

2024-25 Cohorts

For 2024-25, APL will again have a virtual cohort as well as regional cohorts that will meet in-person. The regional cohorts allow assistant principals to learn alongside peers from neighboring districts and allow districts to minimize travel expenses for attendees. Cost will be  $1,000 per person (excluding travel expenses) for the regional cohorts or the virtual cohort. The academy includes six, half-day sessions throughout the school year.

What Administrators Are Saying About the Academy

Attending the APL has given me the time to truly self-reflect on my craft and abilities as an AP. It has grown me by providing me with new perspectives. I love that we ended with “How will we continue to grow others?” and this is one of my favorite parts of this role. I was fortunate to have earned elementary AP of the year for my district, and still know there is so much more to learn!

Jeannette Rodricks

Katy ISD

N2 Learning AP Academy has helped grow several of my APs and I can’t wait to send another one this year! Phenomenal takeaways and great networking opportunities!

Courtney Muceus

Fort Bend ISD

I am lucky that my district felt like I was worth the investment to send me to APL. APL is a tremendous support to leaders who are ready to grow into the next step. I learned about specific areas in which I need to grow, how to shine in my role, and small changes I can make to be better in my current and future roles!

Tracy Brice

College Station ISD

This has been one of the most impactful leadership trainings I have ever participated in. I would recommend it to any AP.

Michael Joannou

2024 NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal, Boerne ISD

APL has been a game changer for me. I have learned so much from the presenter but also from my peers. The professional connections has been my favorite part of APL.

Brigitte Schmidt

Waller ISD

APL has helped me add and continue to build my toolkit for supporting educators and students on my campus. Taking a day each month to reconnect and engage in meaningful learning has positively influenced my craft! Thank you!
