To be eligible for AASA National Superintendent of the Year, a Texas superintendent must first be selected by TASA as Texas’ nominee.

Nicole Poenitzsch
TASA has selected Bellville ISD Superintendent Nicole Poenitzsch as Texas’ nominee for 2025 National Superintendent of the Year, an award given by AASA | The School Superintendents Association. Poenitzsch will be considered by a panel of judges from across the U.S. that will select four finalists. The 2025 National Superintendent of the Year will be announced and the state nominees honored at AASA’s National Conference on Education to be held in March 2025 in New Orleans.
