Thanks to the hard work of TASA members, leaders, and staff, we are also celebrating the fulfillment of all the aspirations set forth in the TASA Strategic Framework — the long-range plan developed by the TASA 2025 Task Force and launched in 2018. The summer issue of TASA INSIGHT introduces TASA’s 2025-26 officers: Chris Moran, Roosevelt Nivens, Jeannie Meza-Chavez and Martha Salazar-Zamora. TASA continues its centennial celebration with a look back at 100 years of TASA presidents and membership, plus a listing of TASA’s Honorary Life Members. The latest “Higher Education” by Stacey Edmonson and Abbie Strunc focuses on pathways and promises for aspiring Texas educators. “Tech Take” is penned by the TETL Next Digital Shift Committee, and addresses how to survive deficit budgets. Eanes ISD’s Claudia McWhorter discusses the importance of partnerships in “TSPRA Voice,” and Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year Kristi Leff discusses why teachers are irreplaceable in “Teacher Perspective.” In “Leadership Perspective,” Pflugerville ISD’s Quintin Shepherd takes a deep dive into maintaining gratitude in challenging times.

July/Aug 2025 Texas School Business

The July/August issue of Texas School Business features the hard work Superintendent Shelly Slaughter has done to change the culture in Cumby ISD.
