Eight new members will join the TASA Executive Committee beginning June 1, 2025, and two members will change seats.

The following six members either ran uncontested races or were elected by the TASA members in their regions to represent their region on the TASA Executive Committee:

Region 1: Alejos Salazar, Lasara ISD (two-year term)
Region 11: DesMontes Stewart, Gainesville ISD (two-year term)
Region 13: Mark Estrada, Lockhart ISD (two-year term)
Region 14: Bryan Allen, Clyde ISD (Allen will serve the remaining half of the two-year term that retiring member Jonathan Scott, Albany ISD, began in 2024.)
Region 16: Greg Brown, Perryton ISD (Brown will serve the remaining half of the two-year term that retiring member Sheri Blankenship, Hereford ISD, began in 2024.)
Region 19: Diana Sayavedra, El Paso ISD (two-year term)
Note: Sayavedra is currently an at-large member of the Executive Committee; however, she will serve in the seat representing Region 19 starting June 1, 2025.

Additional changes and additions to the Executive Committee starting in June 2025 include:

Roland Hernandez, currently a member of the Executive Committee as chair of TASA’s Advocacy Committee, will begin a two-year term as the chair of TASA’s Legislative Committee.
Lauralyn Arterbury, New Braunfels ISD, will join the Executive Committee as the chair of the TASA Advocacy Committee and serve a two-year term.
Nicole Poenitzsch, Bellville ISD, will join the Executive Committee as an at-large member and serve a two-year term.
Tory Hill, Channelview ISD, will join the Executive Committee as an at-large member and serve a two-year term.

Six members of the TASA Executive Committee, eligible to serve another term, will begin new two-year terms on June 1:

Region 3: Robert O’Connor, Edna ISD
Region 5: Stacey Brister, Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD
Region 7: Carnelius Gilder, West Sabine ISD
Region 9: Brad Owen, Burkburnett ISD
Region 15: Aaron Hood, Robert Lee ISD
Region 17, Scott Harrell, Sudan ISD

Seats on the TASA Executive Committee representing even-numbered ESC regions will be up for election in 2026.

During the TASA Executive Committee’s regular meeting on March 26, committee members will ratify the election results shown above.
