Killeen ISD Educational Programming on Local TV Stations

,

“Killeen ISD is excited to provide additional support to elementary school-aged students during the school closure by providing educational programming on KISD-TV Spectrum Channel 17.

“Killeen ISD will broadcast one 30-minute literacy and one 30-minute math lesson for each grade level PK-5, at the beginning of the week (Monday or Tuesday) to set up that week’s lessons and skills (outlined on the Continued Learning Center website/packets) and then another 30-minute literacy and 30-minute math lesson at the end of the week (Thursday or Friday) to “circle back” and close the week’s learning. See the schedule.

“Teachers will continue communicating directly with families and students with specific information regarding their classes and lessons for students. These videos will follow the curriculum provided online in the Continue Learning Center and printed packets. The TV lessons are intended to provide additional support.

“In doing so we have also partnered with a local TV station (KWTX) to air the lessons to students in several Central Texas counties. See news coverage of the partnership.”
