About Me

I am compelled to pay it forward and committed to serving and supporting leaders who approach leadership with a growth mindset.

My 31-year career in public education included 21 years in administrative roles. My leadership journey spanned from elementary principal to high school principal, deputy superintendent, and ultimately superintendent — serving in that role for a decade. I concluded my public education career as superintendent of schools for Sheldon ISD, where I led for eight years.

During my tenure at Sheldon ISD, I spearheaded major improvements, including elevating the district’s accountability rating from an “F” to a “B.” I also led efforts that resulted in the passage of the district’s two largest bond referendums — totaling $533 million — and successfully balanced a multimillion-dollar budget deficit within a single fiscal year.

In 2023, I retired from public education and transitioned to becoming an executive coach, corporate executive, and consultant. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise in system design, leadership development, organizational culture, and climate improvement. My proven ability to build leadership capacity continues to impact both educational and corporate environments.

Growing up in an underserved neighborhood in Dallas, I attended Dallas ISD public schools, where the support of caring educators helped me recognize my potential. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s in Education Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University, followed by a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas – Houston.

My wife, Stephanie, and I have been married for 25 years, and I am the father of one son, King Davis III.
