If you’re a school leader in a Texas public school, you should be part of TASA. We are more than a professional association; we’re a support system for school leaders from school districts both large and small, rural and urban, and from every corner of the state.

What's Next for TASA?

In 2025, TASA is not just celebrating our 100th birthday. Thanks to the hard work of TASA members, leaders, and staff, we are also celebrating the fulfillment of all the aspirations set forth in the TASA Strategic Framework — the long-range plan developed by the TASA 2025 Task Force and launched in 2018. Watch this video to hear about what’s next for TASA!

TASA is Celebrating 100 Years!

Over the past 100 years, TASA has become a trusted source of support and resources for those leaders and a vital advocate for Texas public schools. As we mark our centennial year, we honor the legacy of those who helped to build TASA.

Sept/Oct 2025 Texas School Business

The September/October issue of Texas School Business highlights a district turnaround in DeSoto ISD under the leadership of Superintendent Usamah Rodgers. The issue also features profiles on new TASA President Chris Moran and new TEPSA President Dana Harley Boyd. It also contains photo features from TASAs txedFest, TEPSA’s annual summer conference and TASSP’s summer workshop. You’ll also find a Digital Frontier column on making use of AI tools, a Regional View on preparing students for an AI-driven future, and an inspiring The Arts piece from San Angelo ISD. Plus, don’t miss your favorite columns by Jim Walsh and Riney Jordan, plenty of Who’s News, and more.

Read/Share the Summer Issue

The summer issue of TASA INSIGHT introduces TASA’s 2025-26 officers: Chris Moran, Roosevelt Nivens, Jeannie Meza-Chavez and Martha Salazar-Zamora. TASA continues its centennial celebration with a look back at 100 years of TASA presidents and membership, plus a listing of TASA’s Honorary Life Members. The latest “Higher Education” by Stacey Edmonson and Abbie Strunc focuses on pathways and promises for aspiring Texas educators. “Tech Take” is penned by the TETL Next Digital Shift Committee, and addresses how to survive deficit budgets. Eanes ISD’s Claudia McWhorter discusses the importance of partnerships in “TSPRA Voice,” and Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year Kristi Leff discusses why teachers are irreplaceable in “Teacher Perspective.” In “Leadership Perspective,” Pflugerville ISD’s Quintin Shepherd takes a deep dive into maintaining gratitude in challenging times.
