2024-25 First-Time Superintendents Academy, Session 3 of 4

TASA’s First-Time Superintendents Academy (FTSA) — the go-to training for beginning Texas superintendents for decades — has been designed around the most important learning outcomes for first- and second-year superintendents.
Session 3: Advocating for Your District, Your Students, and Yourself | November 6-7, 2024
Check in on the success of your 90-day plan, find out what you need to know about advocacy at the state level, and dig into superintendent contract issues, the superintendent evaluation instrument, and managing crisis through communication. Continue work on your portfolio.
Schedule
Day One: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (breakfast, lunch included) then 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. (reception and dinner)
Day Two: 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. (breakfast included and offered 7:45-8:30 a.m.)
Housing Reservations

A rate of $144 per night is available from Tuesday, November 5, to Thursday, November 7, 2024.
The deadline to take advantage of the group rate is Friday, October 18.
Registration
Registration is limited to superintendents only.
Fee
TASA Member: $245 per session
Non-member: $295 per session
How to Register
You must register online in TASA’s new Member Services Center. The new MSC was launched in April 2024. If you have not yet created a login for the new system, read “Getting Started: Create a New Login” and take the steps to create your login so that you may register. Only superintendents may register for FTSA (if you are an assistant registering your superintendent, you must log in using their username and password).
- Log in to the TASA Member Services Center.
- Click on one of the REGISTER buttons below.
- Once on the Event Overview page, scroll down to see the registration rate. You must be a TASA member to see the member rate.
- Click on the “Register Now” button. (If you are a superintendent but do not see this option, please contact Maria Cruz at mcruz@tasanet.org.)
- Once on the Checkout page, select your method of payment on the left (Online Payment = credit card, Purchase Order, or Print a Purchase Order Requisition that you may use to secure a purchase order.)
- Follow the prompts to check out using your preferred method.
- After a pause, you will be returned to your profile page. Using the left navigation, click on “My Events” to see your FTSA registration.
- If you later need to change your registration, click on the link under “View Event Details” to do so. Please note Cancellation Policy below.
- If you pay with a purchase order, you may return later and pay online. On your profile page, click on “Transactions” and then on the link under “Pay Online” to do so.
Cancellations
Registration for the full academy or any of the individual sessions is NOT transferable. No substitutions are allowed.
If you registered for the full, four-session academy, but you find you cannot attend one of the sessions, please contact Maria Cruz at mcruz@tasanet.org to find out how to attend the session during the next school year. If you cancel, you must cancel the full, four-session academy. See the TASA Event Cancellation Policy.
