    TASA members are invited to a free live Zoom briefing at 1 p.m. July 15 or July 29 on the new federal K-12 Tax Credit Scholarship Program created through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB). Beginning in 2027, the program will allow taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit of up to $1,700 for donations to approved Scholarship Granting Organizations. While much attention has focused on private school scholarships, the law also creates opportunities to support eligible public school students through tutoring, special education supports, technology, dual-credit coursework, CTE expenses, and more.     The 2026-27 TASA School Board Awards Committee will meet virtually no later than the week of July 29, 2026, to discuss the regional nominations and choose up to five "Honor Board" finalists, which will be interviewed in the fall.
