TASA is pleased to announce a new partnership with N2 Learning that furthers our mission of developing school leaders who create and sustain student-centered schools and develop future-ready students. Through the New 2 Principalship Collaborative Coaching Series, small groups of new principals will have the opportunity to meet online monthly, accompanied by experienced coaches/facilitators, to address common issues faced by new principals.
This series is designed especially for new principals (1-3 years of experience), who will have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate about leadership strategies for personal and professional success.
- Discuss innovative solutions to today’s leadership challenges.
- Network with principals from various districts.
- Journal discussions and ideas for future reference.
- Develop a monthly calendar to guide cycles of future work.
- Expand relationships and accountability with fellow principals.
TASA’s partnership on New 2 Principalship is one way we are working to provide learning opportunities that align with the various career pathways of TASA members — one of the long-term strategies outlined in the TASA Strategic Framework for achieving the association’s aspirations by 2025.
About the New 2 Principalship Program
Participants of the program will meet monthly, for 10 months of the year, in small groups of six (five principals and a coach/facilitator). The 90-minute meetings will be conducted online via Zoom and scheduled once each group is identified. Participants will discuss timely leadership topics including:
- Collaborative teamwork
- Focus on learning
- Effective professional development
- Building capacity of others
- Critical conversations
- Community/parent partnerships
- Processes and systems
- Work-life balance
The new principals who participate will also be encouraged to share their experiences and learn from each other. Because of this and the limited group size, participants will benefit not only from what they learn during the monthly events, but also from being part of a cohort of like-minded leaders — a network they can come to rely on in the years to come. In this way, TASA’s partnership on New 2 Principalship also supports our long-term strategy of cultivating networks of leaders engaged in meaningful work that advances the principles of the TASA visioning document.

About N2 Learning
N2 Learning was established in 2011 by veteran Texas school leaders with the mission of helping school districts achieve their highest aspirations. They have worked with education entities across the state and beyond on projects related to leadership development, planning and facilitation, search services, and assessment and accountability. TASA also partners with N2 Learning on the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy, Principals’ Institute, and Executive Leadership Institute.
