AUSTIN – As we join the efforts across the state today to Celebrate Texas Public Schools, the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) would like to applaud House Public Education Committee Chairman Dan Huberty’s commitment to increasing funding for public education by $1.5 billion and revamping school finance, as well as his strong stance against voucher programs, which siphon money from public schools without providing for academic or financial accountability. Huberty is a true champion for the 5.3 million schoolchildren in Texas.
