About Me

As a passionate and seasoned leader in public education, I am proud to serve as the superintendent of Los Fresnos CISD, a role I have held for nearly two decades. With close to 40 years of service in public education, I remain deeply committed to making a profound and lasting impact in the lives of students and educators alike.

My leadership is grounded in a clear sense of purpose: to create meaningful learning experiences that can transform students’ lives and to develop the next generation of leaders in our field. I approach this work with intentionality, cultivating growth opportunities for those I lead and ensuring that our systems and structures support a culture of excellence and a mindset of continuous improvement.

In addition to my responsibilities as a sitting superintendent, I am dedicated to supporting fellow leaders. I serve as an executive coach and thought partner for experienced and first-time superintendents, offering a unique perspective that blends real-time district leadership experience with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with the role. My approach to coaching is collaborative, grounded in authenticity, and focused on sustainable leadership growth.

My professional journey includes serving as president of TASA (2022-23), a member of the TASA Executive Committee, and a representative on the UIL Legislative Council. I am also a Broad Fellow at the Yale School of Management and a TED-Ed Innovative Educator. These experiences have informed my leadership approach and enriched our district through the implementation of forward-thinking initiatives inspired by the best national practices.

Leadership development, in my view, extends beyond district boundaries. I welcome the opportunity to partner with emerging leaders and new superintendents who are navigating the complexity of executive leadership in today’s educational landscape.
