TASA President LaTonya Goffney, Aldine ISD superintendent, and TASA Past President Gonzalo Salazar, Los Fresnos CISD superintendent, will be among seven leaders honored by The Leadership Academy at its 20th anniversary celebration at the New-York Historical Society on October 25.

Goffney and Salazar are among four educators and three civic leaders being honored for their work, which “exemplifies Academy values and has had an exponential impact.”

The Leadership Academy is an organization that offers leadership development, coaching, and support to build the capacity of individuals and systems to be culturally responsive and give every student access to challenging and engaging learning experiences.

Others being honored are:

Dr. Kathryn Wylde, President & CEO, The Partnership for New York City
Sy Sternberg, retired Chairman & CEO, New York Life Insurance Company
Louise Mirrer, President & CEO, New-York Historical Society
Marisol Rosales, Ed.M, Former Senior Deputy Chancellor, NYC Department of Education
Danika Rux, Ed.D., Deputy Chancellor of School Leadership, NYC Department of Education
