The 2025 Texas Teacher of the Year application will be available March 1, opening nominations by school districts/charter operators.

Only the official District (or charter operator-selected) Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year are eligible to complete the application for consideration at the regional and state levels. Classroom teachers, school librarians, and counselors who teach students at least four hours per day are eligible; administrators are not. Candidates who, prior to the selection of the state finalists, accept non-teaching positions (such as in administration or outside a school or district) or in which they teach students for less than four hours each day are not eligible to advance in the state competition.

Applications must be submitted by June 13, 2024.
