2022-23 First-Time Superintendents Academy, Session 1 of 4

TASA’s First-Time Superintendents Academy (FTSA) — the go-to training for beginning Texas superintendents for over 30 years — has been designed around the most important learning outcomes for first- and second-year superintendents.
Session 1: Understanding the Dynamics of Your District, Community, and Board | July 27-28, 2022
Learn strategies for gaining a better understanding of the dynamics of your new district, including the logistics of working with your school board and assessing the district’s financial situation. Connect with mentors and formulate a plan for the first 90 days of the school year. First session includes a special kick-off dinner and reception.
Day One: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (breakfast, lunch included) then 5:30 – 8 p.m. (reception and dinner)
Day Two: 7:30 a.m. – noon (breakfast included)
You may start the academy anytime during the school year and continue into the next school year. For example, if you start with Session 2, scheduled for September 7-8, you may then participate in Session 3 in November, Session 4 in February, and then attend Session 1 in fall 2023.
There are no cancellations for individual academy sessions; however, if you cannot attend a session you registered for, you may attend the same session the following year. If you are registered for Session 1 of the First-Time Superintendents Academy but unable to attend, please complete the cancellation/substitution request form to be posted here. If you must cancel your participation in the academy as a whole, there is a cancellation fee of $75.
