Gainesville ISD Superintendent DesMontes Stewart has been elected to serve as one of three Texas representatives on the AASA Governing Board.
He will replace Walter Jackson, superintendent of La Porte ISD, whose term will end June 30, 2026, and who was recently elected to serve on the AASA Executive Committee.
Stewart’s term will be July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2029.
