Primary elections in Texas are especially important because oftentimes all the candidates running for a seat are in the same party, so the primary determines who wins the seat. To make an impact on the election, public education advocates must be eligible and prepared to vote in the primaries! Following are some ways to get ready.
Register to Vote
In Texas, 2020 Primary Election Day is March 3, with Early Voting running February 18-28. However, if you are not yet registered to vote, you must do so by February 3! Learn how to register.

Attend a RYHT Candidate Forum or Town Hall in January/February
The Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation is coordinating a series of nonpartisan For the Future candidate forums and town halls in the weeks leading up to the March 3 primary election. The more than 40 events will focus exclusively on public education issues and feature candidates for the Texas Legislature. Many of the events will be co-sponsored by other nonpartisan organizations committed to strong public schools. Find an event near you.
