Executive Coach Working with New and Experienced Leaders
Houston, TX
About Me
I have dedicated most of my nearly 50-year career to supporting and developing leaders. I have served as a teacher, campus leader, associate superintendent, and interim superintendent in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, and as an adjunct professor at Sam State University, where I earned my master’s and doctoral degrees was honored as an SHSU Distinguished Educator.
Prior to my retirement in 2022, I served as the executive director of the Region 4 Education Service Center for 10 years. In that role, my team and I supported superintendents and more than 165,000 staff in 48 school districts and 41 public charter schools that educated more than 1.2 million students. These school districts included the state’s largest and third-largest districts, mid-sized districts, and districts with fewer than 250 students.
Over the course of my career, I have worked directly with and supported hundreds of school district superintendents and countless government, business, and nonprofit leaders. Region 4 superintendents honored me with the 2018 Superintendents Award, citing my skillful communication, support, dedication, and collaboration with community and state leaders.
Following my retirement in 2022, I started an education consulting firm to continue service to public education. I have a deep understanding of PK-12 systems, educational leadership and policy, and I’m a data-minded thought leader. I have expertise in executive coaching, educator and school board training, superintendent searches, school growth/bond elections/facilities, school safety and emergency response, and advising school districts and other educationally focused organizations.
I serve on numerous boards that focus on health, literacy, mental health/wrap-around services, community support, scholarships for students, and university education programs. I’m also a member of the leadership council at my church.
My husband, Jim, and I have been married for nearly 50 years. I am especially proud of our two sons and daughter-in-law. However, my most special role is as Gram to my two precious grandsons.
