Executive Coach Working with New and Experienced Leaders
Lubbock, TX
About Me
I am a seasoned educational leader who has worked in small districts with less than 2,000 students and larger districts with more than 25,000 students. Since 2015, I have served as superintendent of Frenship ISD, a fast-growing, destination district on the South Plains. I have had the opportunity to lead Frenship ISD through a time of historic growth, with the opening of five campuses.
Since 2023, I have also worked with TASA as a professional executive coach. I am passionate about developing the confidence and influence of educational leaders in Texas public schools. Thoughtful, courageous, and resilient leadership is required during these tumultuous times. I am determined to invest in emerging leaders, just as many leaders have invested in my development over the years.
My professional journey includes operational experience in both business and public education. I began my career at Archer City High School in 1989, and after several years in the classroom, I transitioned into private counseling. I managed the operations and business activities of a large mental health care organization in Wichita Falls and the surrounding area.
When I realized the impact I could have on clients was the most fulfilling aspect of my job, I moved back into education and served as a school counselor in Wichita Falls ISD, Pearland ISD, and Iowa Park CISD. I joined the administrative team at Iowa Park High School as an assistant principal in 2007, then the central office team at Allen ISD as the assessment coordinator.
Although I once worked in private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor, many years ago I inactivated my license to focus on educational leadership. However, my background as a counselor has helped me immeasurably with supporting staff and colleagues.
I was born and raised in Iowa Park, a small town near Wichita Falls. I earned my my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Midwestern State University and my doctorate in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
My husband, Tim, and I have been married for over 30 years. We enjoy traveling, reading, and attending local community events.
