Executive Coach Working with New Leaders
El Paso, TX
About Me
I have nearly 30 years of experience in public education in the El Paso region, and am currently serving as superintendent of San Elizario ISD. I previously served as superintendent of Tornillo ISD.
I am also an executive coach, offering an uplifting space to harness leadership through authentic engagement that guides individuals and organizations to set goals, grow, and refine their leadership. I can help you identify how you would like to transform your leadership journey.
I am dedicated to helping others realize their potential. I always encourages collaboration by reminding colleagues that plans will work only if we follow through and refine the process throughout the journey. You need to get involved and engage to make an impact, which is why my “Manos a La Obra” (Let’s Do This) philosophy is evident in my work. I like to lead by example and focus on serving to improve the lives of children. My work ethic is unsurpassed, my passion for education is contagious, and my energy pushes all to go the extra mile for students.
I am proud to serve as past president of the Texas Council of Women School Executives (TCWSE) and as a member of the TASA Executive Committee. I am also a member of the Texas Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (TALAS) and AASA, the School Superintendents Association.
I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from New Mexico State University, a Master’s in Education/Mid-Management from Sul Ross State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing with a minor in Communications from the University of Texas at El Paso.
In addition to my professional endeavors, I am the mother of two teenage boys, Emmanuel, and Isaiah, and have been married to Jesus Chavez for nearly 20 years. I enjoy reading, writing, and taking three-mile walks.
