Joe Pirtle, 87, who served as the 1992-93 TASA president and was an Honorary Life Member, passed away May 12.
Before his retirement in 1997, Pirtle served as superintendent of Belton ISD for 22 years and worked for the district for 43 years. Joe M. Pirtle Elementary in Belton ISD was named after him upon his retirement.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., May 15, at Dossman Funeral Home (2525 N. Main St., Belton, Texas). Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., May 16, at the Belton Church of Christ (3003 N.
