TASA has begun its search for a new executive director. After more than 30 years of service, Executive Director Johnny Veselka has announced his retirement. The TASA officers and Executive Committee are seeking someone who will continue to lead TASA toward the future envisioned through the work of the TASA 2025 Task Force and build upon the reputation the organization has built as a highly effective and respected, influential force in Texas.
The officers, working in conjunction with Arrow Educational Services, have developed an online survey to inform the search for the new executive director. TASA members should check their email on Monday, October 30, for an invitation from the TASA officers and Executive Committee to participate in the survey. Your feedback is an important part of our selection process, and we value your time and reflections about this important decision.
The survey will close on Friday, November 17. Please note that the survey link in the email you receive can only be used once — please do not forward to anyone else. If you are an Active, Associate, Student, or Honorary Life member and do not receive the email invitation, please contact K12 Insight at SouthwestRegion@K12Insight.com.
Following development of the profile for the position, applications will be accepted December 1, 2017, through January 26, 2018, with the selection to be made in February 2018.
The search is being led by Dr. Russell Marshall, president of Arrow Educational Services, Inc., assisted by Mr. Jim Dunlap, chief operating officer and lead consultant. The Executive Director Search Survey is being conducted by K12 Insight, Shelby McIntosh, Managing Director–Southwest.
