Agendas for the Senate Education Committee hearings previously announced for October 6-7, 2026, have now been posted.
The October 6 hearing agenda includes interim charges on:
- instructional time (four-day school weeks)
- shifting enrollment
- improving school transformation talent
- monitoring HB 2 (89th Legislature) teacher pay increases
The October 7 hearing agenda includes interim charges on promoting America and Texas in schools, and monitoring legislation passed during the 89th legislative session, including:
- SB 2 school choice
- SB 12 parental rights
- SB 13 school library materials
- SB 571 educator misconduct
- HB 6 school discipline
Both hearings, chaired by Sen. Donna Campbell, will be held in the Capitol Extension Room E1.028 beginning at 8 a.m.
