The COVID-19 pandemic has created a tremendous amount of uncertainty and hardship for school personnel, students, and families across the state. As the distribution of vaccines approaches, TASA is joining other education stakeholder groups in asking state and federal leaders to consider school personnel as frontline workers for the purposes of vaccine distribution for those who choose to receive them.

TASA is partnering with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) to draft and submit a letter to Gov. Greg Abbott and the COVID-19 Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel asking that they keep school personnel in mind when determining who is eligible for vaccinations during the early stages of distribution.

If your school board is so inclined, you may support this endeavor by adopting a local resolution and sharing it with your locally and statewide elected legislators.
