2024-25 Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders – January Event (In-person)

January 27, 2025 @ 11:30 am to 2:00 pm

The 2024-25 Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders is a series of nine events to be held throughout the school year. It is designed to allow your district to better utilize its finance and business functions to support and enhance other areas, including curriculum and instruction, human resources, and special programs, so your superintendent, chief financial officer, chief curriculum officer, and human resources officers should attend together. Up to three team members are included in the registration fee! All training will be led by subject matter experts identified by TASA, TASB, and TASBO and will follow this schedule of topics.

This Training Session

The January 27 training, conducted 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., will be conducted during the TASA Midwinter Conference. Focuses are:

  • A legislative Update from TASBO, TASA, and TASB as Available
  • Presentation on Effective Communication with Internal and External Stakeholders
  • Budget Communication with Staff, Legislators, and Community Members

CPE Credit

The 2024-25 Texas District Leaders Budget Cohort will receive 30 hours of training.

Registration

  • New for 2024-25: Bring up to four people from a district for $3,750 per team for all nine events. (Previously the rate was for up to three people.) Bring one more person this school year!
  • Districts may send up to two additional participants to all eight events at the rate of $500 each.

This event should not be confused with the School Finance Template Boot Camp to be held 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Sunday, January 26, in conjunction with the TASA Midwinter Conference. The boot camp requires Midwinter Conference registration to attend. If you are already registered for the TASA/TASB/TASBO Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders series, you are not required to purchase Midwinter Conference registration to attend this January 27 event – although you must register for the Midwinter Conference to attend any other sessions in the convention center.
