DESCRIPTION:Any Texas superintendent of schools who is a member of TASA and who has been serving in his/her current position since at least July 1\, 2024\, other than the TASA president at the time the awards will be made\, may nominate his/her board of trustees for the 2026 School Board Awards by collecting and submitting data supportive of the criteria. \nThe 2026 awards will recognize the work of school boards during the 2025-26 school year\, so board members included in the nomination should be those who served on the board during the bulk of the 2025-26 academic year\, even if there is a change in board membership at the end of the school year. \nNo board may repeat as an Outstanding Board or Honor Board more often than once every five years. DESCRIPTION:TASA First-Time Superintendents Academy (FTSA) participants who have not yet graduated as well as brand-new superintendents who have not yet started FTSA are invited to a free\, online summer session focused on what new superintendents need to know to launch a successful 2026-27 school year. \nWhen/Where\nMonday\, June 15\, 1:30 to 3 p.m. via Zoom \nBrand-new superintendents are invited to jump on the Zoom at 1 p.m. for a special meet and greet with the TASA leadership team. From 1 to 1:30 p.m.\, you’ll hear an overview of TASA’s FTSA program and get connected with a mentor and an executive coach (six coaching sessions are provided to you free with your FTSA registration).  \nHow to Register for the Free Summer Session\n(limited to current participants of FTSA and brand-new superintendents)\n\nLog in to the TASA Member Services Center (how-to information).\nOnce logged in\, click on this link to go directly to the registration page for this event or use the left navigation on your member profile to go to “Upcoming Events” and choose the event for which you would like to register.\nFollow the prompts to complete checkout.\n\nAbout FTSA\n\nFTSA is the go-to training for beginning Texas superintendents for decades; it is designed around the most important learning outcomes for first- and second-year superintendents.\nFour in-person sessions will be held during the 2026-27 school year for FTSA.\nFTSA is a rolling cohort\, so new superintendents may join at any time throughout the school year. DESCRIPTION:TASA partners with N2 Learning to offer the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy (APL)\, which not only prepares assistant principals to take on the role of principal\, but also helps them to grow as transformational leaders. APL has a virtual cohort as well as regional cohorts that meet in-person. The regional cohorts allow assistant principals to learn alongside peers from neighboring districts and allow districts to minimize travel expenses for attendees.
