About Me

I am dedicated to giving back to my community and to Texas public education. I spent 33 years in public education, serving in several roles from teacher to superintendent. I connected and learned from multiple talented leaders during that time. I firmly believe the key to success resides within the development of human capital and from leaders who embrace a true North Star.

The bulk of my coaching experience is from my participation as a client during my final eight years as an active superintendent. With hindsight, I regret only that I didn’t that journey much earlier in my career. Executive coaching provides an environment to assist clients with active listening coupled with reflective questioning. It’s a platform to have genuine, honest, and impactful conversations.

As an executive coach, I am committed to opening a dialogue, utilizing questioning, and listening to assist each client in determining their own leadership journey while prioritizing and maintaining your collective goals for organizational success. I look forward to any opportunity to engage with our up-and-coming leaders in education.

Outside of education, I continue to serve on a number of boards that emphasize serving youth and providing access to affordable housing. I also have a passion for introducing aerospace/aviation as a viable path for youth. One of my greatest rewards comes from bumping into former students at the local grocery or hardware store and hearing about their journeys in life. I firmly believe that the experience we create for our youth through our school staffs has a direct correlation to who and what students ultimately decide to do in life.

I was born in San Antonio and I have made the southwest side of that city my lifelong home. My wife, Alexandra, and I have eight amazing grown children. We have also been blessed with eight (and counting) incredible grandchildren.
