The House Subcommittee on Academic & Career-Oriented Education has scheduled a hearing for 2 p.m. (or upon final adjournment of the House) on Wednesday, March 5, to hear two bills.
HB 20 (Gates) would require the commissioner of education to establish and administer an Applied Sciences Pathway program to provide opportunities for students to concurrently earn high school diplomas and certificates from institutions of higher education.
HB 120 (Bell, Keith) relates to CTE programs in public schools, the Rural Pathway Excellence Partnership (R-PEP) program, and a high school advising program, including funding for those programs under the Foundation School Program, and to the new instructional facility allotment and the permissible uses of funding under the Foundation School Program.
