SUMMARY:TASA/TASB Convention (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Since 1961\, school administrators and board members have come together at the joint TASA|TASB conference to not only receive the individual training they need to fulfill their differing roles\, but also to explore solutions to the challenges they face in their communities together. For 2020\, TASA|TASB is going virtual so that we can do our part to keep school trustees and administrators safe\, healthy\, and able to continue to do their important jobs for Texas students. \nThe September 30-October 2 event will provide information and relevant topics that are first and foremost on your mind right now\, including advocacy\, communication\, equity\, and social justice. Attendees can earn up to 10 hours of credit and will have access to the content for 30 days after the event. \nRegistration opens August 18. More details to come!

SUMMARY:District School Board Award Nominations Due
DESCRIPTION:Any Texas superintendent of schools who is a member of TASA and who has been serving in his/her current position since at least July 1\, 2024\, other than the TASA president at the time the awards will be made\, may nominate his/her board of trustees for the 2026 School Board Awards by collecting and submitting data supportive of the criteria. \nThe 2026 awards will recognize the work of school boards during the 2025-26 school year\, so board members included in the nomination should be those who served on the board during the bulk of the 2025-26 academic year\, even if there is a change in board membership at the end of the school year. \nNo board may repeat as an Outstanding Board or Honor Board more often than once every five years. (A board named as the Outstanding Board or as an Honor Board in 2022 or later is not eligible to be nominated in 2026.) \nSee the full criteria and guidelines. \n  \n
