To that end\, the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and TASA partner to host the TASA/TASB Legislative Conference each legislative session to provide school leaders with an opportunity to learn about important education legislation and meet with legislators at the Texas Capitol. \nDuring the 2025 conference\, to be held February 18\, TASA and TASB Governmental Relations staff will update attendees on legislative activities and proposed bills\, preparing attendees to meet with legislators and staff. It is designed to allow your district to better utilize its finance and business functions to support and enhance other areas\, including curriculum and instruction\, human resources\, and special programs\, so your superintendent\, chief financial officer\, chief curriculum officer\, and human resources officers should attend together. Up to three team members are included in the registration fee! All training will be led by subject matter experts identified by TASA\, TASB\, and TASBO and will follow this schedule of topics. \nThis Training Session\n\nThe February 25 training\, conducted 9 a.m.-4 p.m.\, will be conducted in Austin during TASBO’s Engage Conference. DESCRIPTION:The 2024-25 Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders is a series of nine events to be held throughout the school year. It is designed to allow your district to better utilize its finance and business functions to support and enhance other areas\, including curriculum and instruction\, human resources\, and special programs\, so your superintendent\, chief financial officer\, chief curriculum officer\, and human resources officers should attend together. Up to three team members are included in the registration fee! All training will be led by subject matter experts identified by TASA\, TASB\, and TASBO and will follow this schedule of topics. \nThis Training Session\n\nThe April 8 training\, conducted 10 a.m.-12 p.m.\, focuses on: \n\nBudget Process During Uncertain Legislative Session\nManagement Reviews\n\n\nCPE Credit\nThe 2024-25 Texas District Leaders Budget Cohort will receive 30 hours of training. \nRegistration\n\nNew for 2024-25: Bring up to four people from a district for $3\,750 per team for all nine events. (Previously the rate was for up to three people.)
