Topics include mental health\, social-emotional health\, stress management\, sleep\, time management\, weight management\, exercise\, etc. and how each area affects participants’ leadership capacity. \nWho Should Participate\nBreakaway Leadership was designed for Texas campus and district leaders who want to learn skills and habits to set them apart from other leaders. By focusing on developing and improving all aspects of their well-being – mental\, social-emotional\, physical – participants will come to the leadership table with a level of fitness that enables them to lead from a position of strength and clarity – all day every day. The program is open to all campus and district leaders! If you are an assistant principal\, principal\, central office administrator\, assistant / associate / deputy superintendent\, or superintendent\, Breakaway Leadership is for you! \nPhysical Exam Recommended\nParticipants will be asked to schedule and complete a full physical check-up with their personal physician before beginning the program in January. SUMMARY:Exhibit of School Architecture on Display in Austin
DESCRIPTION:Forty-six projects will be featured in the 2023-24 Exhibit of School Architecture. This exhibit of new and renovated Texas school facilities includes projects from 38 school districts and three colleges that were submitted by 15 architectural firms. Eligible projects are newly constructed or renovated public education facilities completed in the past five years and not previously submitted in this annual exhibit. \nThe Exhibit of School Architecture awards are given at the discretion of a 12-member jury\, which includes: four school board members\, four school administrators\, and four members from the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Southern Region. The juried exhibit awarded Stars of Distinction for Excellence to 23 projects in one or more of the following six areas: design\, value\, innovation\, community\, planning\, and school transformation. \nThe TASA/TASB Exhibit of School Architecture in collaboration with the A4LE – Southern Region Foundation will showcase 46 projects at the 2024 TASA Midwinter Conference during exhibit hall hours January 29 (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.) and January 30 (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) The projects will also soon be featured in the online exhibit at https://texasschoolarchitecture.org/. \nYou must be registered for the TASA Midwinter Conference to visit the exhibit.

SUMMARY:2024-25 Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders – September Event (In-person)
DESCRIPTION:The 2024-25 Budget Cohort for Texas District Leaders is a series of nine events to be held throughout the school year. It is designed to allow your district to better utilize its finance and business functions to support and enhance other areas\, including curriculum and instruction\, human resources\, and special programs\, so your superintendent\, chief financial officer\, chief curriculum officer\, and human resources officers should attend together. Up to three team members are included in the registration fee! All training will be led by subject matter experts identified by TASA\, TASB\, and TASBO and will follow this schedule of topics. \nThis Training Session\n\nThe September 26 training\, conducted 9 a.m.-4 p.m.\, will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio prior to the txEDCON24 TASA | TASB Convention. Focuses will be: \n\nDistrict Data Scan and District Fiscal Health\nGallery Walk or Show and Tell – Budget Process Success Stories\nLong Range Facilities Planning\nState Demographic Trends\nBudget Issues and Challenges\n\n\nCPE Credit\nThe 2024-25 Texas District Leaders Budget Cohort will receive 30 hours of training. \nRegistration\n\nNew for 2024-25: Bring up to four people from a district for $3\,750 per team for all nine events. (Previously the rate was for up to three people.)
