2023-24 First-Time Superintendents Academy, Session 2 of 4

TASA’s First-Time Superintendents Academy (FTSA) — the go-to training for beginning Texas superintendents for over 30 years — has been designed around the most important learning outcomes for first- and second-year superintendents.

Session 2: Establishing Leadership and Prioritizing Change | September 6-7, 2023
Dive into prioritizing the needs of your new district, the most effective board practices, and shaping the narrative about your district through public relations. Begin work on a portfolio of supportive evidence for your superintendent’s evaluation.

Schedule

Day One: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (breakfast, lunch included)

Day Two: 7:30 a.m. – noon (breakfast included)

Housing Reservations

A housing block has been reserved at the Marriott Austin North in Round Rock. A reservation link will be provided here soon.

Registration

You may register for the full, four-session academy or for individual sessions.

You may start the academy anytime during the school year and continue into the next school year. For example, if you start with Session 2, scheduled for September 6-7, you may then participate in Session 3 in November, Session 4 in February, and then attend Session 1 in fall 2024. 

Fees

Full, four-session academy, TASA Member: $845
Full, four-session academy, Non-member: $945
Individual sessions: $295 each

How to Register

Log in to your account in the TASA Member Services Center (or create an account). Once logged in, click on the Events tab and scroll down to see the FTSA offerings, which include the full, four-session academy as well as individual sessions.

Cancellations

There are no cancellations for individual academy sessions; however, if you cannot attend a session you registered for, you may attend the same session the following year. If you are registered for Session 2 of the First-Time Superintendents Academy but unable to attend, please complete the cancellation/substitution request form to be posted here. If you must cancel your participation in the academy as a whole, there is a cancellation fee of $75.
