The Texas House Committee on Delivery of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will meet Wednesday, August 19, at 9 a.m. in room E2.012 in the Capitol extension to hear invited and public testimony on several interim charges. Charges of note being discussed include:
- Preventing Fraud, Waste, and Abuse: Study methods by which the state can leverage technology, including artificial intelligence, to detect fraud, waste, and abuse of taxpayer resources.
- Data Privacy and Security: Study the implementation and effectiveness of the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act to determine whether the law provides adequate protection for Texas residents and businesses.
- SB 14: Relating to reforming the procedure by which state agencies adopt rules and impose regulatory requirements and the deference given to the interpretation of laws and rules by state agencies in judicial proceedings.
