The House Public Education Committee will meet at 8 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, to consider HB 2, the House school finance bill, and SB 2, the Senate’s ESA bill.
HB 2 Buckley – The committee heard invited testimony on HB 2 (finance) on March 4 and public testimony on the bill on March 6. (See highlights and link to a full summary of HB 2 as filed.) A committee substitute is anticipated, and we will provide additional information when the substitute becomes available.
SB 2 Creighton | et al. – The committee will also consider SB 2 (ESAs), the companion to HB 3, which was considered and left pending in a prior hearing. (The committee heard nearly 24 hours of testimony on HB 3 on March 11-12.) SB 2 was passed by the Senate on February 5.
